The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is currently seeking a talented researcher to strengthen the biomanufacturing research activities at the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP), a centre of excellence in additive manufacturing (AM) research, consolidating NTU's research activities towards the advancement of AM technologies. Working in close collaboration with various government agencies and external partners, SC3DP builds on NTU's existing strengths in science and engineering, to provide a research platform to spearhead Singapore's efforts in AM. The SC3DP is based at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), ranked 12th in the world (QS Subject ranking 2021).
With well-established industry partnerships with prominent companies such as RollsRoyce, General Electric, HP Inc, Pratt & Whitney and Singapore Airlines, MAE provides an active and vibrant research environment with excellent R&D infrastructure and numerous opportunities for research funding. The School has an enrolment of over 2500 undergraduate students with over 100 faculty members and 140 full-time research staff working in well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories. A growing research student population of over 400 is also actively engaged in strategic research and development work.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a project to conduct research on advanced bioprinting strategies for multiscale and multimaterial tissue engineering constructs.

  • Develop new bio-inks and fabrication strategies for the fabrication of novel biomimetic skin constructs

  • Supporting MSc and PhD students in their research activities

  • Help the principal investigator in management of the laboratory and research activities

  • Identify, plan, and prepare new research proposals to further the aims of the research group

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, Biomaterials, or related field

  • At least two years of post-doctoral work experience in related area

  • Expertise in additive manufacturing, electrospinning, biomaterials, in vitro cell biology, and imaging

  • Proficiency in design of tissue engineering scaffolds, preparation and characterization of biomaterials, scanning electron and confocal microscopy, and biological assays are highly desirable

  • Strong publication track record

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language is mandatory
