The NTU University Advancement Office (UAO) supports the University's giving mission by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships with philanthropists, alumni, business community partners, corporations, foundations, and friends that result in goodwill and philanthropy towards education and research that underpin a shared sustainable future.
Responsibilities
Fundraising Activity
  • Develop, implement and promote a broad range of donor cultivation strategies, programmes and activities to increase the funds raised to realise the University's strategic objectives.
  • Develop, maintain and update a database of prospective and existing donors and grow the donor base year on year in revenue and quantum of donors
  • Prepare and send direct mailers or solicitation emails to potential donors in the database
  • Research and draft briefings for senior management to assist with donors and prospective visits to faculties, including providing follow-up documentation and correspondence.
  • Work collaboratively with the Development Marketing Communications team to write and present proposals and business cases to both internal and external stakeholders across a range of topics to highlight philanthropic opportunities and drive donor revenue growth.
  • Work with the stewardship team to plan and coordinate campus visits for prospects and donors, including engaging them at key fundraising and University events.

Gift Documentation and Data Management
  • Ensure accurate and timely record keeping in the donor management database to enable professional and coordinated relationship management.
  • Ensure well-documented closing of gift and pledge collection.
  • Maintain best practice standards in all aspects of the position, including appropriate activity levels, communication, reporting, donor stewardship and with commitment to data input and record management

Relationship Management
  • Bring together appropriate faculty to assist with academic content, in order to align donor interests with the University's fundraising priorities.
  • Build strong productive relationships with donors, prospects and alumni, developing confidence, trust and connection to NTU delivered through consistent professional and responsive interactions.
  • Facilitate strong relationships within the team, and more broadly across NTU including senior management, to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to philanthropic development.

Team and Staff Management
  • Provide regular guidance and mentoring to colleagues to facilitate their success, where applicable.
  • Provide regular constructive feedback and assessment to team members.

Requirements
  • University Degree or related equivalent combination of education with minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proven fundraising experience and track record and relevant skills and management expertise, preferably in a higher education sector environment or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training and skills.
  • A successful track record in cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
  • Experience in Higher Education/Not-For-Profit fundraising with an ability to achieve monthly activity targets as a key metric of performance. Candidates with appropriate business development/consultative sales experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and diverse relationships and the proven ability to operate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate confidently and professionally with donors, staff and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with extensive experience in developing business cases, proposals and presentations.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Sound acumen and strong professional presence as well as a collegial work style that promotes teamwork, creativity and open communication.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to a diverse range of stakeholders
