Senior Business Development Manager (Global, Maritime) Singapore / Permanent

Established Telecommunications firm
Roles & Responsibility:
Global account management (GAM)
  • Build and maintain global pipeline across all market facing units
  • Lead and inspire local-BU account resources and wider cross-functional teams to deliver best-case outcomes for the partner
  • Report to global account steering board and/or internal executives quarterly
  • Contribute to the development of the ‘GAM approach for top tier partners

Sales & Business Development
  • Build and execute company-partner strategy for portfolio partner accounts
  • Lead company's commercial relations with value-added resellers in the region
  • Support to meet or exceed Asia Pacific sales and revenue targets.
  • Build acquisition strategies for new / target VARs in the region
  • Promote company's Maritime Portfolio to partners, their customers and prospects
  • Develop and maintain detailed sales pipeline (new business & renewal) and annual business plans to deliver revenue growth, informed by the partners own business strategy and company's LRBP
Account Management
  • Track and report on key channel metrics for each account in the managers portfolio, specifically:
  • Sales pipeline and targeted revenue against budget.
  • FX installs against budget and contracted commitment
  • Ensure that company delivers high standards of customer experience / satisfaction as measured via Corporate CSAT & NPS measures
  • Build cross-functional teams in a proactive and structured way to support customer projects and deliver positive outcomes for both partners and for company
  • Liaise with product management, providing feedback from the market and proactively contribute to proposition development
  • Strong analytical skills eg: developing a detailed engagement strategy for clientele.
  • Timely and accurate reporting using the correct formats to assist with management information
  • Contributing to sector and regional plans as part of the planning cycle
Regional Strategy
  • Develop and execute regional indirect sales strategy to increase company's market share in the SAARC, ASEAN and the Pacific Region, reporting progress to management quarterly.
  • Act as single point of contact for regional partners into company's portfolio.
  • Collaborate with partners to build and sign off joint business plans informed by the partners own business strategy and aligned to company's LRBP growth objectives.
  • Prospect for new partnerships in-region and build acquisition strategies for new / target VARs in the region.
  • Contributing to wider BU sector development and company's Corporate regional plans as part of the annual planning cycle.
  • Industry Representation & Marketing
  • Help to raise the profile of company within the SAARC, ASEAN and the Pacific Region
  • Represent company at industry trade shows and conferences
  • Provide market intelligence in collaboration with Maritime Market Intelligence

Candidate's Ideal profile:
  • Bachelor / Master's Degree in Business, IT or equivalent preferable
  • Proven experience with solution-based / strategic selling methodology
  • Proven sales execution, as measured through delivery of multi-million revenue targets will be advantageous.
  • Proved record negotiating and closing complex deals will be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to create new business, thinking creatively to identify new opportunities
  • Maritime portfolio and/or sector knowledge, with existing C-level relationships
  • c.5-10 years experience in a similar position, preferably within the maritime satellite communications industry in the Asia Pacific region
  • Eager to sell / hunter mentality.
  • Strong work ethic, independent ‘self-starter - comfortable working remotely.
  • Excellent analytical skills, competent with Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce.
  • Open to new technology and a quick learner.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, social and outgoing.
  • Travel will be required for this position.
