Job Title:Senior Director M&A, APAC
Job Description:ROLE OVERVIEW
  • DI has been an acquisitive buyer of companies closing on 80+ acquisitions over the last 5-years.
  • In February 2022, the dentsu Board announced a $2.6 billion acquisition investment over the next 3-years.
  • The key focus areas of the $2.6 billion investment includes Cloud Services, Tech Alliances (Salesforce,Adobe, Google martech), Commerce & Experience, Analytics, B2B and Identity.
  • The candidate will be joining DI at an exciting and active time with material opportunity to pursue exciting acquisitions in fast moving twenty first century Sectors.
  • Play a leading role in overseeing M&A and investment activities globally with a specialization in the APAC Region including major markets of China, India, ANZ and Southeast Asia
  • Structure and execute acquisitions, equity investments and Joint ventures across the organization globally
  • Lead all aspects of a robust acquisition process including
    • Working with the business leadership to develop an aligned M&A strategy
    • Sourcing opportunities consistent with the M&A strategy
    • Thought leadership on structuring and valuation of opportunities including strong forecasting/modelling skills. Valuation against comparable transactions and utilizing discounted cash flow methodologies
    • organizing, coordinating and leading cross-functional due diligence teams to assess risks and opportunities
    • coordinating external financial advisors and investment bankers
    • leading discussions/negotiations with the acquisition target around price, contract terms, etc.
    • evaluating business case including go-to-market plans for synergies and integration plan and costing
    • structuring of complex transactions leveraging appropriate internal tax, legal regional and external resources
    • summarizing and presenting due diligence findings and recommendations to executive management
    • Lead creation of acquisition deliverables such as presentations to senior executives and Board of Directors, deal closing approvals, etc.
  • Lead acquisition/investment discussions at executive meetings
  • Understand and communicate financial impact and risks of potential acquisitions & investments and recommend remediation actions

  • Extensive relevant track record operating within large, complex global organisations, with geographically diverse teams in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking or Transaction Advisory experience
  • Demonstrates C-suite maturity and a strong ability to build relationships and partner with multiple levels of the business and functional leaders
  • Can do attitude and ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation structure with significant emphasis on collaboration, influence and persuasion
  • Excellent communication skills , written, verbal and presentation Ability to present complex concepts, to senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Strong analytical skills including financial modeling, accounting and valuation experience
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects and teams
