The Senior Executive / Executive is part of the Antimicrobial Resistance Coordinating Office (AMRCO) team and supports the implementation of the National Strategic Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), developed by One Health AMR Workgroup (MOH, AVA, NEA and PUB). This national plan is in line with the World Health Organisation Global Action Plan on AMR, and provides a national framework to strengthen and enhance activities to combat AMR, address identified gaps and prioritise future interventions.
The Senior Executive / Executive will execute and facilitate the coordination of antimicrobial resistance efforts between AMRCO and the vertical units (research, training, epidemiology and laboratory) within NCID and with One Health Workgroup members.
  • Assist the Programme Head and Manager/ Deputy Director in carrying out the functions required under the National Strategic Action Plan (NSAP) on AMR.
  • Coordinate amongst the One Health agencies, the AMR efforts across the animal, human, food and environmental sectors.
  • Part of the team involved in working with the Agency of Care Effectiveness, Ministry of Health in developing an upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) guidelines for primary care physicians
  • Support AMR education efforts including the World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW), developing education content and organising talks for the public and healthcare professionals
  • Work closely with the Infectious Disease Research and Training Office (IDRTO) to coordinate AMR research grant management activities, including the monitoring of project outcomes and deliverables, across organisations and sectors, ensuring that research is in line with the National Strategic Action Plan on AMR.
  • Support the expansion of surveillance efforts including the tracking and monitoring antimicrobial utilisation and resistance efforts in primary care, expansion of the national antimicrobial resistance coordinating committee (NARCC) work plans, collection and tracking of AMR monitoring & evaluation indicators
  • Provides secretariat support to department and national committee meetings (e.g. arrange meetings, prepare agenda and presentation materials, take minutes etc)
  • Execute any other adhoc activities required under the National Strategic Action Plan on AMR.

  • Candidate to possess a Bachelor’s Degree, related discipline in epidemiology, biostatistics or biological/physical/chemical sciences would be advantageous.
  • Preferably 2-5 years of relevant work experience in public health with focus on research reviews, grant administrations, health promotion and policy work.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and quantitative skills to manage research review findings and AMR-related data.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to coordinate effectively between a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders across the various sectors.
  • Team player and able to reprioritise workload to meet changing situations.
  • Exercise professionalism in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
