Job Scope
The SM/AVP, Procurement (Category Management) is responsible for formulating, developing and execution of the procurement strategies for the preparing, negotiating, supplier development, implementation & delivery of sourcing strategies to maximize values to increase saving and project procurement profitability and achieve the business goals and objectives. Responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on procurement cost savings, develop projects through detailed technical and financial negotiations, contract management, supplier relationship development and develop the infrastructure, systems and procurement resources to develop solutions to increase win-rate. Able to work as a team member and individual contributor, he/she serves as point of contact and a key player in leading and providing direction in the formulation of supply strategies in project.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop Procurement strategies and achieve alignment and implementation at the management levels
  • Work closely with the internal customer / Business Unit Leaders to source for the fit-for purpose product/software/services to achieve quality, service excellence and cost optimization
  • Work with internal customer / Business Unit Leaders to define parameters to negotiate with supplier
  • Conduct rationalization of suppliers for categories in scope, conducts negotiations with suppliers and ensure rebates of all categories in scope are accurately applied
  • Monitor overall savings, rebates of all categories in scope and support of special projects or additional assignment
  • Perform regular reviews of supply market trends and analyse spend to enhance category strategies
  • Build relationship with business stakeholders to develop insights of potential categories, identify sourcing opportunities and value-add projects

Org. & People
  • Facilitate continuous communications between Business Unit Leaders to obtain inputs for brands used, quality perceptions, business strategies and etc.
  • Build relationship with business users to develop insights of other potential categories
  • Leads and motivates a high performance team

Key Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain from a well-recognized Educational Institution.
  • Effective Presentation Writing: Ability to write clear and concise reports / presentation to address the business/technical needs of the intended audience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive procurement experience, with five (5) years of experience in Procurement role in Aerospace industry and/or Category Management
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes along a complete project life cycle
  • Technical background and engineering experience strongly preferred
  • Project Procurement management experience preferred and managing a procurement /material of more than US$300M annually
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills communication & business analytics skills
