JOB DESCRIPTION
Structure
- To define the Job Description of Assistant QA Engineer (Structure) / QA Engineer (Structure).
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Health, Safety and Environment policies.
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Quality policies.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, procedures and standard required in the project.
- Prepare and submit project quality documents, NDT plan and procedures.
- Monitor project inspection activities.
- Administer the project internal quality audit to ensure compliance with the project quality plan.
- Monitor the inspection and documentation activities of QA Inspectors to ensure compliance with inspection & test plan and project quality requirements.
- Interface with Owner and Class pertaining to quality related issues and technical clarifications or queries.
- Handle and resolve quality related issues arising from sub-contractors and in-house production.
- Weekly update on documentation status, procedures submission/approval status, WSR and NDT progress.
- Preparation and submission of Manufacturer Data Book (MDR) to owner and classification society.
- Execute all work instructions assigned by immediate superior as required.
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.
 
Coating
- To define the Job Description of a Assistant QA Engineer (Coating) / QA Engineer (Coating).
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Health, Safety and Environment policies.
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Quality policies.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, procedures and standard required in the project.
- Prepare project quality documents, Inspection and Test plan and procedures.
- Oversee daily Coating inspection activities.
- Monitor the project schedule for Coating activities.
- Maintain and upkeep the equipment use for coating work.
- Supervise and review Technician(s) daily work activities and work processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare Inspection and Test Plan prior to submission for review by Senior QA Engineer (Coating).
- Liaise and advise the Shipwright Section and Client Representatives on quality assurance issues related to Coating and Surface Preparation.
- Ensure proper documentation of project inspection and test activities including delivery dossiers.
- Initiate recommendations and provide solutions on project problems through designated channels.
- Perform internal audits on project documents and inspection activities.
- Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.
 
NDT
- To define the Job Description of an Assistant QA Engineer (NDT) / QA Engineer (NDT).
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Health, Safety and Environment policies.
- Able to understand and follow KSL’s Quality policies.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, procedures and standard required in the project.
- Prepare project NDT plan and procedures.
- Oversee daily NDT inspection activities.
- Monitor the project schedule for NDT activities.
- Review and monitor NDT contractors technicians’ list and equipment calibration list.
- Review and monitor NDT contractors technicians’ performance and compliance to the approved NDT procedures.
- Liaise with QA Project Lead Engineers the NDT work scope, requirement and progress.
- Monitor and review NDT contractors’ submitted NDT reports prior to submission to project clients.
- Ensure proper documentation of project inspection and test activities including delivery dossiers.

Structure
- Diploma in Naval Architecture / Marine and Offshore, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or its equivalent. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- At least 3 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience, preferably in the offshore and marine industry.
Coating
- Degree / Diploma in Naval Architecture / Civil / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical / Engineering. NACE Level 2.
- At least 3 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience, preferably in the offshore and marine industry.
NDT
- Degree / Diploma in Naval Architecture / Civil / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical / Engineering or ASNT Level 2 in UT or RT.
- At least 3 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience in Radiography and Ultrasonic Flaw Detection Test, preferably in the offshore and marine industry.
Piping
- Diploma in Naval Architecture / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- At least 3 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience, preferably in the offshore and marine industry.BUSINESS UNIT
