The Role Responsibilities

As Senior Product Designer you will be responsible for the client experience of CCIB client facing portals this means you&rsquoll be tasked with creating flows that delight people and meet the goals of our Business Corporate and Institutional business. You will have experience designing products in domains such as fintech and or large corporate banking platforms.
You will internalise complex information about products and services to make them understandable to real humans like you and us. Since this role is fully focused on solving problems for customers and business alike, it requires empathy and business understanding in equal parts.
What you will do

  • You&rsquoll create the vision for a standout user experience across all products & services and drive its realisation with the larger design team, business and tech.

  • You use wireframes to express your vision and seek alignment and deliver the final flows with applied components from our design system.

  • You will be a close and trusted partner to the product owner and business owner to understand their needs, goals and what makes a difference to them. As a senior candidate you will use your knowledge and skill to help them define and refine problem statements.

  • You frequently engage with our research, analytics and value capture teams to understand pain points and opportunities to improve the experience.

  • You will use your entrepreneurial spirit and ability to be hands-on. Drive, grit and the ability to evangelise the significance of user experience is an important skill for any senior team member to affect the change we&rsquore after


  • Work in a fast paced environment, designing and implementing research that effectively answers key business questions

  • Work collaboratively with designers and product team members to identify, prioritize and conduct user research using appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques such as usability testing, remote moderated and unmoderated studies, performance benchmarks, competitive benchmarks, structured surveys, user interviews, focus groups, ethnographic research, contextual inquiry, concept testing, card sorting and tree testing.

  • Generate actionable insights that help shape product and business decisions and communicate the user insights in compelling ways through written reports and in-person presentations to stakeholders.

  • Triangulate qualitative research with inputs from Data Science, Surveys, Market Research and Secondary data

  • Collaborate closely with other researchers, designers, product managers, data scientists, marketing and operations managers, and engineers to ensure research you deliver is integrated into every aspect of the product and provides a holistic view of our users

  • Uncover rich quantitative and qualitative insights from NPS data, digital analytics, first/second- and third-party research that propel teams forward and fuel remarkable solutions

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence

  • Create methodologies that align to the needs of the organisation

  • Manage multiple workstreams with varying timelines and complexity with authority and passion

  • Be the consumer's voice and champion within the organisation and build customer centricity in all our product building initiatives

  • Deliver quality work with light managerial supervision

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience driving projects from initiation to delivery, defining the business value gained with the program and utilising this with stakeholders for buy-in.

  • 8 years of experience in producing rich interactive experience in the corporate and financial markets space.

  • Bachelor&rsquos Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Communications, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Interaction Design, Psychology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Enthusiasm for tackling the large cultural shift necessary to establish a design practice.

  • You can be strategic one moment and a detail-obsessed designer the next.

  • You have an understanding of psychology and behavioural science.

  • You also understand global diversity and the ability to advise on solutions that suit all.

  • You have the ability and desire to keep challenging yourself and others with entrepreneurial attitude and passion for observing human behaviour, identifying team biases and surfacing these with grit.

  • You can guide business partners and evangelise a mindset for good experience and user-centricity.

  • You work smart, are flexible and skilled in establishing practical processes.

  • You love to take ownership, see your projects through to launch and keep an eye on them afterwards, always on the lookout for improvement.

People and Talent

  • Ability and desire to keep challenging yourself and others with entrepreneurial attitude and passion for observing human behaviour, identifying team biases and surfacing these with grit

  • Understanding of psychology and behavioural science

  • Understanding for regional diversity and ability to advise on solutions that best suit all

  • Experience running research program, defining and measuring the business value gained with the program and presenting to stakeholders for buy-in

  • Experience integrating user research into an agile product development process

  • Experience setting up user research findings repository

  • Designing and conducting generative and evaluative user research using qualitative (field observations, remote and in-person usability studies and interviews) and quantitative methods (surveys)

  • 5-8 years experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research studies including moderation, analysis and final report presentation to stakeholders.

  • Experience participating in the Design process and practicing Design Thinking

  • Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Communications, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Interaction Design, Psychology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) MBA or MA preferred

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of visual design and design software

  • Ability to prototype, wireframe, create user flows and mockups

  • Knowledge of information architecture and content design
