Job Description

 SC Ventures (%26quot;SCV%26quot;) was established in March of 2018 with the purpose of %26quot;Rewiring the DNA in Banking%26quot; by bringing three distinct areas together:
The eXellerator labs, enabling innovation at large in the Bank by supporting:
Entrepreneurially-minded colleagues as %26quot;Intrapreneurs%26quot;, developing ideas to products, services or new business models.
Collaboration with fintech companies, supported by the SC Ventures Fintech Bridge, Proof of Concept (%26quot;POC%26quot;) framework and POC funding.
Client engagement on co-creation activities.
The Innovation Investment Fund (%26quot;Fund%26quot;), USD100m allocated to acquire minority stakes in fintech companies (%26quot;fintechs%26quot;) whose technology has been successfully validated in the Group and is progressing to production (i.e., continuing use), subject to commercial due diligence.
Venture building, exploring new business models (%26quot;ventures%26quot;), with the objective of providing %26#39;optionality%26#39; for the Group in the way it engages existing and new customers and markets. These adopt a start-up model, operating independently of the Group%26#39;s existing businesses, funded in a venture capital fashion, and under a different governance and risk management framework.
There are c.65 team members (excluding individual ventures), including dedicated colleagues from the Group%26#39;s support functions, based in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nairobi, London and San Francisco.
1.    Driving and advising on development process of a portfolio of early stage ventures in incubation.
2.    This covers sourcing, selecting, and incubating the ventures through the entire journey from ideation through to acceleration and commercialisation. 
3.    Advise and coach the wider venture team on operational and executional excellence. 
4.    Continuously evolve and improve the effectiveness of the venture building discipline. 
5.    Assist with operational aspects of new ventures in the portfolio and provide executional support and guidance. 
6.    Ensure milestones are being effectively worked towards, being ontop of the portfolio of ventures and acting as an all-round problem solver
7.    Work effectively with the cross functional partners 
8.    Co-ordination and assistance with recruitment and set up of core founding and second-level teams for different ventures in incubation. 
9.    Advising C level teams with external fundraising efforts
10.    Introductions to relevant regional and local partners in the ecosystem

1.    An experienced and highly capable individual with direct relevant experience of venture incubation/building and/or having experience as a co-founder of successful start ups, ideally within the banking and/or technology space. 
2.    10 years working experience in building startups %26amp; ventures 
3.    Experience working in and navigating a global organisation
4.    Bachelors degree in a relevant field / MBA 
5.    Strong network and familiarity within the VC/start up eco-system 
6.    Possess excellent communications, management, time-management and problem-solving skills
7.    Is organized and able to multi-task and prioritize competing requests from different stakeholders
