Function Overview

The team has a well-defined mandate of managing AeJ financial resources usages of all business lines, including Global Markets, Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Merchant Banking business, in a prudent and robust manner that meets both the internal governance and external regulatory requirements. It partners closely with other functions and regions to facilitate the business thrive on changing business landscape and achieve best return on equity. Its primary responsibilities includes: i) On-going reporting and evaluation of business drivers behind Balance Sheet, Unsecured Funding, Risk Weighted Asset, and projection of future usages in view of regulatory pipeline, business deals and changes in sales/trading business strategy ii) Business advisory on financial resources usage optimisation, legal entity booking strategy and impact analysis of regulatory matters iii) Identification and implementation of various financial resources optimization initiatives iv) Monitoring of regulatory developments in AeJ regulated entities.

Job Responsibilities:

This role is advisory-focused on resources optimisation matters and the candidate must have an eye for details. While there will be need for production oversight, the near-term focus will be on driving strategic legal entity business planning and restructuring. This is instrumental to the business medium term growth plan as we need to strategically reposition our presence in various legal entities to take advantage of the changing regulatory landscape against the backdrop of expanding product / market coverage. The role involves in-depth trade flow analytical review and advises on constraint optimisation out of large set of parameters spanning across entity capacity, prudential regulation, market infrastructure, compliance and legal framework. The individual needs to delicately engage various stakeholders from other functions and deliberate on booking model that achieve the best RoE outcome with a balanced approach.

  • Engage in business modeling and develop assessment and KPI framework to evaluate legal entity initiatives
  • Understand the business priorities and shape the design and implementation roadmap of key initiatives
  • Interact with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Global market, legal, compliance, risk, IT) and steer group discussion towards high-impact solution
  • Drive senior management presentation and meetings

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in capital, liquidity and risk management
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a bank or a consulting firm with direct experience in transaction advisory and capital/balance sheet/liquidity management
  • Experience dealing with Global Market products
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills and can cope with tight deadlines
  • Confident personality and provide leadership to drive delivery and outcome
  • Good command of written and spoken business English to liaise with different level of stakeholders
